Answer

Each Tango user is assigned a role (default or custom) that comes with a predetermined permission set. With custom roles, you have the flexibility to define exact sets of permissions and access levels per your business and organization needs. Tango Admins with Organization Level access can create custom roles and grant custom permissions to users on their Tango Platform. See Default user roles in Tango portal.

Create custom user roles

As a Tango Admin, you can define and create custom roles for your organization.

To create a custom user role:

  1. Sign in to the Tango portal.
  2. Click image.png Team settings > Users on the left menu.
  3. Click Role Management on the top right.
  4. Click Create Role to create a new custom role.
  5. Enter a Name for the role.
  6. Toggle permissions for available sections and features on Tango. See each access and its definition in User roles in Tango.
  7. Click Create to finalize and save your new custom role. A message confirms the role is created.

Edit custom user roles

As a Tango Admin, you can edit available custom roles for your organization.

To edit a custom user role:

  1. Sign in to the Tango portal.
  2. Click image.png Team settings > Users on the left menu.
  3. Click Role Management.
  4. Under Custom Roles, select the custom role you'd like to edit.
  5. Make the desired changes by toggling permissions On or Off.
  6. Click Save.
You can click Cancel to revert to the last saved version of the role. A Change Role notification appears to confirm changes will be applied to all users assigned that role.
  7. Click Save Changes to apply changes to the role.

Note:
  • Changing a role impacts all users assigned that role.
  • The portal's default roles can't be edited, but you can duplicate a default role and edit the copy.
  • The Save button is greyed out until a change has been made to a role.

Copy user roles

Custom User roles are available when inviting new Users to your Platform, or editing existing Users' permissions.

To copy a user role:

  1. Sign in to the Tango portal.
  2. Click image.png Team settings > Users on the left menu.
  3. Click Role Management.
  4. Select a role from the list.
  5. Click three-dots menu then select Duplicate from the menu.
  6. Edit the name of the duplicated role.
  7. Toggle permissions On or Off to make necessary change to the copied role.
  8. Click Create. You can click Cancel to revert to the last saved version of the role.
