Information

Answer

Tango offers international rewards in many countries via a global catalog. See international rewards for participating countries. The foreign exchange rate is calculated daily based on the brand and recipient’s location. Using the current daily exchange rate, we convert the local reward amount to your account’s currency. During checkout, we show the exact amount that will be charged to your account at the time of the order. See “International options” in About Reward Link®.

Notes:
  • The currency of a Tango Account is set at the time the Account is created, and can't be changed after any transactions have been made on the Account.
  • Completed transactions are final. Once a transaction is complete, its currency cannot be exchanged for another currency.
  • Text delivery is only possible for U.S. and Canada phone numbers (+1 country code). See Send digital rewards to mobile recipients.

Add global currency rewards and payments to your catalog

To add international options in global currencies to your Tango platform's reward catalog, contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) or success@tangocard.com. Learn more about the international rewards by visiting Tango's global catalog. See Global rewards

Most requests to add certain international cards (such as prepaid cards) go through an approval review to ensure they’re safe, compliant, and appropriate. See Add prepaid cards to your Tango catalog for approval process.

Our catalog is updated as rewards are added, changed, or removed, so it is the best place to confirm which currencies are available at any given time.

Supported currencies

The following are examples of currencies supported for international rewards via the Tango catalog: AUD, CAD, CNY, EUR, GBP, INR, JPY, USD. Note that account currencies (USD, CAD, EUR, GBP, and AUD) are different from reward currencies. Your account always transacts in a single account currency. Reward amounts are entered in the recipient’s local currency and then converted at the time of funding or ordering.

How does currency conversion work?

When you fund your Tango account, whatever currency you use is converted into your account currency using that day’s exchange rate. When you place an order for an international reward:

  • You enter the reward amount in the recipient’s local currency.

  • Tango converts that local amount into your account currency using the current daily exchange rate.

  • The total will be deducted from your account in your account currency during checkout.

Send international rewards

Follow the instructions below to send an international reward.

To send an international reward:

  1. Sign in to the Tango portal.

  2. Go to Send rewards on the left navigation menu.

  3. Select an international reward. You can narrow down your search by the recipient’s Currency or Country.

  4. Enter the reward amount in local currency, such as $10 AUD in this example. Tango converts the amount to your account's currency using the current daily exchange rate. You will see the total in your account’s currency during checkout.

  5. Enter the remaining recipient and delivery details, then click Add to Cart.

  6. Click Go to Cart. In the cart, the reward appears with the reward’s currency, such as Australian A$ or Euro €.

  7. Click Checkout. If you have more items in your cart, the total amount is calculated in your account’s default currency.

  8. Select the payment account and order information if needed.

  9. Click Place order.
If you have multiple items, your Total order amount is shown in your account’s default currency. For more information, follow our general instructions on how to send rewards in Tango.
