Ways to pay for your Tango orders

Tango accounts hold your funds. Each order you place draws from that account’s balance. If you have multiple accounts for different programs, you must fund each account separately.

Note:

All transactions are managed at the account level. If you want to keep funds separate for different programs (such as an employee-incentive program or a customer-referral program), we recommend using different accounts. Learn About Tango accounts and groups.

There are two main ways to pay for your Tango orders and rewards: Pre‑fund your Tango account (add funds before ordering) and Pay at checkout (pay when placing the order).

Pre-fund your account

Before you send rewards with Tango, your account must have enough funds to cover your transactions. You can pre‑fund your Tango account in several ways.

Bank account
  • Add a bank account to your Tango account and transfer funds from that bank account to pre‑fund your Tango account.

    Note:

    US customers can add bank accounts and deposit funds via the Tango portal. For questions, contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) or success@tangocard.com.

  • You can transfer funds as soon as the bank account is successfully added. It may take 5–6 business days for the funds to finish processing and become available for orders. See Pre-fund with your bank account.

ACH/Wire
  • To pre-fund your Tango account, initiate a transfer from your bank using ACH or Wire. Both ACH and Wire can be completed online or in person at your bank. The ACH and Wire details required by your bank are available in the Tango portal. See Pre-fund your account with ACH or Wire .

  • ACH is for US customers only and takes 3-5 business days to process once the Tango Funding team receives the confirmation of ACH payment from your bank.

  • Wire transfer is for US and international customers and takes about 1-2 business day to process once the Tango Funding team receives the confirmation of Wire payment from your bank. See Pre-fund your account with ACH or Wire.

Credit cards

Use a registered credit card on your Tango account to pre-fund your account immediately. There is a 2.9% processing fee for credit card transactions.

Physical check

Send physical checks to pre-fund your Tango account. Once the check has been received by mail, it processes within seven business days. See Pre-fund your account with a check.

 

Pay at checkout

You can pay for your rewards at the time of checkout for a fast and easy checkout experience. We offer the following options:

Use a registered credit card on your Tango account  to pay for your rewards at checkout .  You can also register a credit card at checkout if you have Manage Permissions for Funding. There is a 2.9% processing fee for credit card transactions. See the following documents:

Pre-funded balance

Pay with your Tango account’s pre-funded balance. If there aren’t sufficient funds available, you can deposit funds, or transfer between two active Tango accounts on the same platform that use the same currency. You must be a Tango user with Manage Permissions for Funding to transfer funds. See the following documents:

Pay at Checkout (Credit Card)

  • “Pay as you go” without pre-funding.

  • Uses a registered credit card; 2.9% fee. Great for ad‑hoc or low‑frequency senders.

Request an invoice

Use Tango portal to generate a self-service or pro-forma invoice as the preliminary or estimated bill of sale prior to finalizing your order. Go to Funding > Wallet, then click Request an invoice. See Generate self-service invoices for full instructions.

For a more customized invoice, contact funding@tangocard.com with the following information. The Tango funding team will reply within one business day:
