You can pre‑fund your Tango account by adding funds to your account balance with a registered credit card. A registered credit card is one that’s already saved to your account. A 2.9% processing fee applies to credit card transactions. After depositing funds, you can check the status of your transaction in Tango portal under Funding history.
New credit cards can be used immediately once successfully added to your account. Tango usually reviews and processes transactions by the end of the next business day. For newly added credit cards, processing may take up to two business days, during which the transaction may show a Pending status. See Orders FAQ to learn why. Contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) or success@tangocard.com if the status remains pending more than three days.

Note:
- You must have the Entire organization access and Manage permissions for Funding & payments to add a credit card. Once a credit card is added, you can use it to pre-fund your rewards. See Roles and permissions in Tango .

Default credit card funding limits apply to each credit card account on your platform. Other funding methods, such as Wire, ACH, or checks, have no funding limits. Contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) or success@tangocard.com for details.

Tango sends a real-time notification to the designated email address when funds are deposited in your production account. See Set up funding notifications for more information.
Before you begin
Deposit funds using a credit card
Follow the steps below to deposit funds into your Tango account using a registered credit card.
To deposit funds using a credit card:

Sign in to the Tango portal.

Click the account switcher at the top of the left menu, then select the correct account.

Click Payment methods on the left navigation menu.

Click Add or transfer funds next to the Account balance.

Enter the Funding amount.

Click Deposit funds.
The system will calculate the fee (2.9%) and display the total payment amount. A confirmation message appears, and a funding confirmation email will be sent to the designated recipients. You can update the existing credit card notification recipient list under Cards & banks. See Set up credit card notifications.
Check the status of your credit card transaction
After depositing funds, go to the Funding history tab in Tango portal to check the status of your credit card transaction.
To check the status of your credit card transaction:

Sign in to the Tango portal.

Click the account switcher at the top of the left menu, then select the correct account.

Click Funding history on the left navigation menu.

Find and click the credit card transaction to open the Details panel.

In the Details panel, check the Status of your credit card transaction: Processed, Pending, or Declined. Learn how to Download credit card transaction receipts.

Note:
- Credit card transactions can take up to two (2) business days to process. It shows a Pending status while it’s being processed. See Orders and reports FAQ to learn why. Contact your Customer Success Manger (CSM) or success@tangocard.com if the status has been pending more than three days.
- American Express and Discover cards can only be used to add funds to accounts that are set to US dollar (USD).
- Tango accounts are created with USD as the default currency but can be set to other currencies. Funding transactions are processed in the currency of the selected Tango account, regardless of the currency of the rewards sent or credit card used to add funds.
- Only accounts that have not yet had any transactions can have their currency changed. To change the currency of your Tango account, contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) or success@tangocard.com.
