Sending rewards is faster and easier with our recipient import feature. Create your recipient list in Excel or Google Sheets, then import it into the Tango portal. Upload a spreadsheet (.csv or .xlsx) to avoid manual entry.

With this feature, recipients are imported to a single reward (UTID) at a time—unlike bulk order files, which allow multiple rewards in one file. See how you can Send bulk digital and printed rewards with Tango.

 

Note:
  • This feature is only available for rewards delivered by email. Recipients cannot be imported for QR code or text delivery.

  • You can import up to 1,000 recipients per reward. Multiple recipient files or individual recipients can be added before proceeding to checkout.

  • To import recipients for multiple rewards, add each reward and its recipients to the cart before checkout.


To import the recipients list:

  1. Sign in to the Tango portal.

  2. Click Send rewards from the left menu.

  3. Select the reward you want to send.

  4. Click Import recipients.

     

  5. Choose your .csv or .xlsx file containing recipient information and upload it.

    • The first row of your import file must be a header row with column names, such as, First Name, Email, Reward amount, Notes.

    • The minimum required columns are: recipient first name and email address. Optional columns include last name and notes.

    • Only include columns you intend to use; irrelevant columns can be omitted during the mapping step

  6. Use the dropdowns to map each column from your file to the correct recipient property.
    Reward amount is only required if “Different amounts per recipient” is selected. If not, set the reward amount in the Tango portal UI before adding to your cart or proceeding to checkout.

     

  7. Click Import recipients. Your recipient list will populate in the portal.

  8. Review your recipient table.
    Importing data appends new rows to your recipient table. Remove any blank rows at the top after import.

  9. Proceed to add the reward to your cart or checkout as usual. The recipient list is populated in Tango portal and ready to continue.

    • If your “Proceed to checkout” or “add to cart” buttons aren’t working, check for error messages displayed next to incomplete or blank fields in your recipient table.
