Send rewards with QR code

Answer

Tango supports QR code delivery, letting you send digital rewards directly to recipients without requiring their contact information. Recipients access rewards by scanning a unique QR code—ideal for on-site events and in-person recognition.

Note:

  • Not all rewards support QR code delivery. The Tango unique Template ID (UTID) must specify the delivery type. If a reward is not eligible, the Send rewards page disables QR code delivery.

  • QR code reward delivery applies organization-wide to all accounts.

  • QR code rewards do not require recipient email addresses or phone numbers.

When to use QR code delivery

Use QR code delivery to:

  • Distribute rewards at conferences, booths, and other on-site events.

  • Recognize employees or participants in person without collecting contact information.

  • Print or display rewards for physical mailings, retail displays, or other in-person distribution.

Before you begin

  • Confirm that you have the user roles and permissions required to send rewards in the Tango portal. See Roles and permissions in Tango.

  • Confirm that QR code is enabled for your platform. See Enable QR code reward delivery.

  • Confirm the selected reward supports QR-code delivery by checking the reward’s delivery method.

Send rewards with QR Code

To send digital rewards with a QR code, follow the instructions at Send digital rewards by email and select QR code as the delivery method. The QR code option appears only for rewards that support QR delivery.

How recipients redeem their reward

After you place the order, Tango generates a unique QR code for each reward. Present the QR code in person or print it for the recipient. The recipient scans the QR code with a mobile device, opens the reward link in their mobile browser, and redeems the reward. After placing the order, go to the Order history to view, print, or share QR codes. See View and print QR codes.

Note:

  • QR codes are single-use. Once a recipient scans and redeems the code, it cannot be used again. If a QR code is scanned after the reward has already been redeemed, the recipient will see a message indicating the reward is no longer available.

  • If applicable, the QR code link will expire on the date shown in the order confirmation. Expired or unredeemed codes can be reissued from the Line Items view. See Manage reward orders with Tango.

View and print QR codes

To view the reward’s redemption credentials and display or print the Tango-generated QR code, go to the Order history page, open a line item, and select Actions > View reward credentials. The QR code appears when the order used QR-code delivery. You can print the reward credentials or copy and share the reward URL for immediate redemption. See Manage reward orders with Tango for details.
