You can personalize the subject line, message, sender name, and template just before sending rewards.

There are two ways to personalize:

  • Customize fields: Edit individual fields (subject, message, from name) in the template already assigned to your rewards. This option is used best when you want the same template for all items but with a personal touch.

  • Replace the template: Swap a reward's template for an entirely different one. This option is best when you need a different layout or design for a specific reward.

Personalize the current template for all rewards in one order

Before sending items to the cart, you can customize the current template (digital or Printed Reward Link) by editing specific fields—such as the subject line, message, or sender name—and apply those changes to all rewards in your order. You don't need to choose a new template, but personalize the one that's already assigned.

To personalize the current template for all rewards in one order:

  1. Sign in to the Tango portal.

  2. Select delivery method.

  3. Select the rewards you want to include in your order.

  4. Under Delivery method, find the template and select Click to preview or update template.

  5. In the reward (digital or Printed Reward Link) template, edit the required fields:

    Use the variable {{reward_name}} to dynamically insert the name of the reward.

    Not applicable

    To name

    Use {{first_name}} to dynamically insert the recipient's first name.

    Recipient's name (up to 70 characters; can be overridden at order time).

    From name

    The value entered here will automatically update any {{from_name}} tags used within your template.

    Sender's name (up to 70 characters; can be overridden at order time).

    Message

    Customize the message content, keeping it within the 3,000-character limit.

    Brief reward message (up to 150 characters; can be overridden at order time).

    Customer Support Message

    Not applicable

    Either Tango's default or your own (up to 160 characters).

    Letter Head

    Not applicable

    Text on the non-redemption side/front of the letter (up to 64 characters).


    Note:

    The redemption instructions for the reward are tied to the reward and cannot be changed.

  6. Click Use template to go back to the cart.

  7. Click Proceed to Checkout and place order. See Send digital rewards by email. The personalized message will be added to all rewards in your order.

 

Replace an individual reward template in the order

While reviewing the cart, you can replace the entire digital template within the order. To change an individual reward, swap the template before checkout. See Send digital rewards by email for more information.

To replace an individual reward template in the order:

  1. Sign in to the Tango portal.

  2. Go to the shopping cart. Make sure you are in the View by recipients mode.

  3. Find the digital reward whose template you want to modify.

  4. Click Edit to modify the digital template.

  5. Choose a new template from the selection. Here’s an example of text templates:

  6. Click Apply template.

  7. Click Save.

  8. Use the preview side to see how it will look to recipients.

  9. Click Checkout and place order. See Send digital rewards by email.

 

When using bulk order, use the ETID or PTID columns to specify the template ID you want to apply.

To personalize the message for each digital reward or Printed Reward Link, enter your custom text in the Message column. This allows you to tailor both the email template and the message for every individual reward in the order. See Send bulk digital and printed rewards with Tango.

 

To add personalized messages to bulk orders:

  1. Sign in to the Tango portal.

  2. Download the bulk order template file.

  3. Update the required fields then upload the completed file.

  4. Review your order and click Checkout.

 

Note:

Each row in the file represents one reward, so you can apply a different template and message to every individual recipient in the order.
